AppLovin is a marketing technology platform that enables businesses to advertise profitably through programmatic advertising, audience targeting, and performance measurement. With this destination, you will be able to send conversion events to AppLovin for unified attribution, advanced targeting, and optimization across AppLovin's advertising network.

Overview

The Ours Privacy integration with AppLovin enables you to track conversions and other key events through a secure, server-to-server integration. By routing all events through our servers, we ensure that sensitive data remains protected while accurately tracking your advertising performance.

AppLovin provides programmatic advertising capabilities across display, video, and mobile channels, allowing for unified attribution and optimization across AppLovin's advertising ecosystem.

Ours Privacy automatically captures AppLovin click IDs (aleid) from URL query parameters and saves them for dispatching future events. This enables accurate attribution of conversions back to the original ad clicks.

How It Works

The AppLovin integration works through a multi-step process that connects ad clicks to conversions:

1. Click ID and Pixel Tracking

When users click on AppLovin ads, AppLovin adds the aleid query parameter to your website URLs. Ours Privacy automatically collects this parameter when visitors land on your site:

• The aleid parameter is automatically captured from URL query strings
• The visitor is cookied by Ours Privacy
• The AppLovin click ID (aleid) is stored as a property on the visitor
• Any UTM parameters or other variables passed in the URL are also stored
• This enables Ours Privacy to match future conversion events back to the original ad click

If you have the Axon Pixel installed on your site, Ours Privacy also automatically collects:

• aleid - Query parameter for app users

2. Visitor Tracking and Cookie Matching

When a visitor lands on your site after clicking an AppLovin ad:

• The visitor is cookied by Ours Privacy
• The AppLovin click ID (aleid) is stored as a property on the visitor
• Any UTM parameters or other variables passed in the URL are also stored
• This enables Ours Privacy to match future conversion events back to the original ad click

3. Conversion Dispatch

When the same visitor later performs a conversion event on your website (tracked via the Ours Privacy Web SDK or other sources), Ours Privacy:

• Matches the conversion to the original click based on the cookie
• Retrieves the stored AppLovin click ID (aleid)
• Dispatches the conversion to AppLovin using server-to-server conversion tracking

The conversion event includes the AppLovin click ID, allowing AppLovin to properly attribute the conversion to the original ad click.

Configuration

Destination Setup

To configure the AppLovin integration:

1. Navigate to Destinations in your Ours Privacy account
2. Click Add destination and select AppLovin as the destination type
3. Enter your Pixel ID and API Access Token
4. Configure the mapping fields as needed for your use case

Finding Your Pixel ID

Your Pixel ID is provided by AppLovin when you set up your Axon Pixel integration. Contact your AppLovin account representative or check your AppLovin dashboard to obtain your Pixel ID.

Finding Your API Access Token

Your API Access Token is provided by AppLovin for server-to-server event tracking. Contact your AppLovin account representative to obtain your API Access Token, or check your AppLovin dashboard settings.

Mapping Fields

The AppLovin destination provides comprehensive mapping options for various types of event data. Here are the available fields you can configure:

Required User Identifiers

Important: You must send at least one of the following identifiers for each event, otherwise the event will not be sent to AppLovin:

• aleid - AppLovin Event ID from URL parameter (automatically collected by Ours Privacy)
• client_id - A stable first-party user identifier
• axwrt - Cookie set by the Axon Pixel
• alert - Query parameter for app users (automatically collected)
• user_id - Unique identifier for the customer
• email - Customer email address (can be SHA-256 hashed)
• phone - Customer phone number (can be SHA-256 hashed)
