Worked Ours Privacy short link configurations for direct mail, in-office signage, events, email, multi-location QR codes, and offline-to-conversion measurement.
Worked short link configurations for campaigns customers actually run. Build each one in Short Links by setting the fields shown, then save and publish.
Northside Women's Health and northsidehealth.example stand in for your own brand and domain throughout. Event names in the measurement steps are the link names, because the link name is the event name.
Important: Publish before anything goes to print. An unpublished link forwards visitors to the Ours Privacy website and records nothing.
Print and direct mail
Direct mail postcard with a repointable code
Use when you are mailing a postcard, flyer, or statement insert and want the code to keep working after the offer changes.
Name: Spring Postcard QR
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/spring
Campaign & UTM tags
Campaign: spring_2026
Source: postcard
Medium: direct_mail
Content: back_panel_qr
QR design
Theme: Midnight
Frame: Rounded
Logo: your mark, at the default size
Export: SVG for the printer, PNG for the proof deckThe point of routing print through a short link rather than printing the landing page URL is that the destination is editable afterwards. When the spring offer ends, repoint the same link at the summer page and every mailed card follows.
Scan a physical proof before the run. A code that scans from a monitor can still fail on coated stock under fluorescent light.
One code per clinic location
Use when the same piece of signage goes up in several offices and you want to know which one is working.
For each location, one link:
Name: Lobby Poster QR - Lincoln Park
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/book?location=lincoln-park
Campaign & UTM tags
Campaign: clinic_signage_2026
Source: lobby
Medium: signage
Content: lincoln_parkBuild the first one, design its QR code, then use Duplicate on the list page for the rest and change the name, destination, and content value. The design and campaign tags come along.
Above roughly a dozen locations, generate them through the API instead. See Automating short links.
Each link reports separately, and the shared campaign value lets you read them together in Web Analytics.
Exam room or take-home handout
Use when staff hand a patient printed material and you want to know whether anyone follows up on it.
Name: Post-Visit Instructions Handout QR
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/after-your-visit
Campaign & UTM tags
Campaign: patient_education_2026
Source: handout
Medium: printCheck the device breakdown after a few weeks. A handout code should be almost entirely mobile. Meaningful desktop traffic means the URL is being shared some other way, which is worth knowing.
Keep the destination genuinely mobile-first. This is the placement where a slow or desktop-shaped landing page costs you the most.
Events and out-of-home
Conference booth code
Use when you are exhibiting and want scans attributed to the event rather than to generic direct traffic.
Name: Fall Conference Booth QR
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/providers
Campaign & UTM tags
Campaign: fall_conference_2026
Source: booth
Medium: event
Content: banner_stand
QR design
Theme: Inverse
Frame: Square
Transparent background: on, for placement on the banner artworkUse Inverse or a high-contrast custom pair when the code is printed on a dark banner, and watch for the contrast warning under the preview.
Repoint the destination the week after the event, from the general providers page to a follow-up page addressed to people who met you there. Everyone who kept a card or photographed the banner lands somewhere relevant.
Separating a printed code from its digital twin
Use when the same campaign runs on a poster and in an email, and you need to know which produced the scans.
Link 1
Name: Wellness Fair Poster QR
Content: poster_qr
Link 2
Name: Wellness Fair Email Link
Content: email_footer
Both:
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/wellness-fair
Campaign: wellness_fair_2026
Medium: poster / email respectivelyScans and clicks are not distinguishable on a single link, so two links is how the split is done. Each reports separately and the shared campaign value reads them together.
Email and digital placements
Newsletter link with real first-party attribution
Use when you want newsletter clicks on the visitor timeline rather than only in your email tool's dashboard.
Name: February Newsletter Footer
Destination URL: https://northsidehealth.example/services?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=feb_2026
Campaign & UTM tags
Campaign: feb_2026
Source: newsletter
Medium: email
Content: footerNote the parameters appear twice on purpose. The fields in the editor make the click reportable inside Ours Privacy; the parameters on the destination URL make the landing page visit attributable to anything else running on the page. See Campaigns and UTM tags.
Expect the raw click count to include email security scanners and link previewers. The Analytics tab excludes bots by default, so trust that number over an unfiltered query.
Measurement setups
Did the print campaign actually convert?
Use when you need to defend or kill a print budget, not just report scans.
1. Short link
Name: Spring Postcard QR
Campaign: spring_2026
2. Funnel (Attribution → Funnels)
Step 1: Spring Postcard QR
Step 2: Page View (the booking page)
Step 3: Appointment Requested
3. Read the drop-off between steps 1 and 2The scan and everything after it are the same visitor, so the funnel works with no extra instrumentation. A large drop between step 1 and step 2 is a landing page problem. A large drop between step 2 and step 3 is an offer or form problem.
See Funnels.
Retarget the people who scanned but never booked
Use when a print or event campaign produced scans and you want a second touch.
Audience (Marketing Center → Audience Builder)
Event Behavior
Event: Spring Postcard QR
Count: is greater than or equal to 1
Window: 60 days
Event Behavior
Event: Appointment Requested
Count: is equal to 0
Window: 60 daysThe zero-count condition is what makes this an intent segment rather than a list of everyone who scanned. See Event conditions.
Read Compliance for audiences before syncing anything derived from a health-adjacent placement to an advertising platform.
Send scans to your CRM
Use when a scan should create or update a record rather than only appear in a report.
1. Confirm the link's event name is on your allowed events list
2. Destinations → your CRM → add a mapping for the event
3. Map the campaign properties you want on the record
4. PublishThe click is an ordinary event, so it maps like any other. See Data mapping and Allow listing events.
Clicks from visitors who declined the relevant consent category are recorded in your account and are not forwarded to the destination.
